The Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission awarded benefits to a worker for a heart attack caused as a result of an increased work load. The Supreme Court has held that "accident need not be the sole cause or major cause of the condition of ill-being. It only need be a contributing factor." For this reason, work-related conditions can be a contributing cause and rise to the level of a workers' compensation case.
