A 42-year-old Minuteman worker from the Illinois Department of Transportation was critically injured on August 7, 2012 by a hit-and-run driver. The unnamed worker, who is from Chicago, was helping the driver of a stalled vehicle on the Dan Ryan Expressway near 26th Street in Chicago when a grey or silver car struck him, fracturing his right leg and causing internal bleeding. The car did not stop. The worker is in critical condition, and Illinois State Police are seeking the hit-and-run driver.
When you are injured in a car accident while on the job, you have two cases. One is a personal injury case against the person who caused the accident and one is a workers' compensation case. A hit-and-run accident is considered an uninsured motorist case. McCready, Garcia & Leet represents many clients who are injured in car accidents on and off the job.
