Nine people were injured on August 6, 2012, in a boat accident involving tour boat called the Lila, owned by Wendella Boat Tours. The Lila was docking near the Michigan Avenue bridge on the Chicago River when it lost power. The pilot lost control and the boat crashed full speed into the dock, injuring nine of its 150 passengers. Seven of the injured were hospitalized in good condition; two people being treated in fair-to-serious condition. The Coast Guard is investigating the accident.
