A federal grand jury has issued a subpoena to the Committee on Finance for the City of Chicago regarding workers' compensation claims for injured City workers. Last year alone, the City paid $115 to disabled City workers. The Committee on Finance is led by Alderman Edward Burke.
The subpoenas demand access to the duty disability program's database as well as injury records, medical assessments and claim investigation records. The subpoena demands records dating back to 2006. McCready, Garcia & Leet have been representing injured City of Chicago workers since 1999.
