An 84-year-old woman, Ilchwa Abraham, was struck and killed by a Kia Sedona in the West Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago on August 20, 2012. Ms. Abraham was crossing the street at the crosswalk at the time of the accident. Charges have not been pressed against the driver, and the matter is pending investigation. McCready, Garcia & Leet represents the families of pedestrians who are killed or injured in automobile accidents. We extend our condolences to Ms. Abraham's family. Many of the accidents we see involve people who cross in mid-block rather than at the crosswalk. Crossing at the crosswalk is a safer choice, though, unfortunately, it is impossible to predict when an accident might strike.
