A Berwyn police officer was injured on September 13, 2012, while responding to a call about a pit bull attack. According to witnesses, a woman was walking her small dog in the early morning near the intersection of 27th Street and Ridgeland Avenue when a pit bull approached her. She picked her small dog up, but the pit bull attacked her and killed the dog. The pit bull then ran back into a yard with another pit bull, as police responded to neighbors' 911 calls. The police shot both dogs; one officer was injured, either by a bullet or a dog bite. McCready, Garcia & Leet represents victims of animal attacks.
