A speeding driver who caused a crash that killed a teen was sentenced today, September 25, 2012. Lukasz Marszalek, now 22, was driving his Mazda at least 76 miles per hour in a 40-mph zone when his vehicle collided with that of Julie Gorczynski, 17. Gorczynski was killed in the Orland Park crash. The case, which triggered a push for tougher sentencing laws for speeding drivers, ended with the maximum sentence for Marszalek: 180 days in jail (six days of which he has served) and a $275 fine.
