Amtrak's Michigan routes are now running again after a derailment near Niles, Michigan, injured nine people. The incident occurred on the No. 350 train from Chicago to Pontiac, Michigan, which was carrying 174 passengers. Several cars lost contact with the tracks; they remained up right and in line with one another. The passengers were severely jolted and nine were sent to hospitals for treatment. None of the injuries were life-threatening. The remaining passengers were transported by bus to their destinations.
