A civil suit is now pending in additional to criminal charges in the case of a hit-and-run driver. Kristian Hernandez, 36, was arrested for the crime. At the time of the accident, Hernandez was working as an EMT for a private ambulance company. Richard Bougan, who filed the suit, alleges that Hernandez hit his brother Ronald Bougan while Bougan was walking on the south side of West Touhy Avenue on Nov. 5, 2012. Hernandez was speeding and switching lanes recklessly, according to the suit, which also charges him with not rendering medical aid Bougan after the accident. The lawsuit calls for an award in excess of $50,000.
